About The Author
From poetry and short stories to novels, Peter writes about life in all its complexity: love, loss, relationships, and human experience.
PETER J MORLEY
Peter J Morley is an Australian author and poet whose writing looks beyond the obvious. His work explores human relationships, memory, identity, and the choices that can quietly change the course of a life. With life experience across Sudan, England, and Australia, Peter brings a broad perspective to characters who are rarely as simple as they first appear.
His novels, The Chatters Web and The Chatters Web – A New Thread Starts, blend mystery with deeply human stories. Beneath the twists and unanswered questions are people carrying secrets, memories, complicated relationships, and unfinished parts of their past. Peter is drawn to the moments when ordinary lives are disrupted, and characters are forced to confront what they thought they had left behind.
about the books
Two compelling stories. Countless hidden connections. Discover the people, secrets, and choices that shape what happens when the past refuses to stay buried.
THE CHATTERS WEB
Some stories begin with a mystery. This one begins with a web of secrets. The Chatters Web follows a cast of complex characters whose lives are connected by hidden relationships, painful memories, unanswered questions, and choices made in the past. At the centre is Jean Daniels, whose seemingly innocent “Chat” sessions open doors to stories and secrets that were never meant to be uncovered.
As the threads begin to connect, the story moves through the lives of Carol Mitchell, Sergeant Graham Williams, Angela, Lizzie, Glen, and others. A death, a missing person, a newspaper investigation, and long-buried family secrets gradually pull them into the same tangled web. Each character has something to hide, and every new discovery raises another question.
THE CHATTERS WEB – A NEW THREAD STARTS
The story doesn’t end when the first mystery does. A new thread begins. In The Chatters Web – A New Thread Starts, Jean Daniels leaves England behind and heads towards an uncertain future, hoping to rebuild her life and escape the problems beginning to unravel around her. But the past has a way of following those who try to leave it behind.
Then Bern Harris starts asking questions and discovers that the story is far more personal than he expected. An investigative journalist, Bern begins researching Jean Daniels and George Mitchell after coming across their names in connection with the events surrounding Carol Mitchell. His investigation soon leads him to Carol, and the questions become deeply personal when he discovers the truth about his own identity and family.
